Divorce real estate
Why a CDRE® Matters.
A traditional Realtor is hired to market and sell property. A CDRE® is trained for what happens when the property sits inside a family-law matter.
The difference
Same transaction. Entirely different decision structure.
The mechanics of a New Jersey home sale don't change in divorce. What changes is who decides, how information moves, and what has to be documented.
Two decision-makers
Both parties typically must approve listing, pricing and offers.
Restricted communication
Updates go to both sides simultaneously, often copying counsel.
Occupancy
One spouse may live in the property throughout the marketing period.
Documentation
Recommendations are written so nothing depends on recollection.
Legal oversight
Court orders or settlement terms may govern price, timing and process.
Neutrality
The agent works for the transaction, not for one spouse's position.

Common questions
Answers, in plain English.
What does a divorce Realtor do?
A divorce Realtor — properly, a CDRE® — manages the real estate side of a family-law matter: valuation context, condition strategy, preparation, marketing, showings, offers and closing, all under a documented, neutral process shared with both parties.
What is a Master CDRE®?
Master CDRE® reflects an advanced standing within the Certified Divorce Real Estate Expert® designation. Dennis Mark Interdonato is listed by the Ilumni Institute as a Master CDRE®.
Can one spouse remain in the home?
Occupancy arrangements are decided by agreement or court order. From the real estate side, an occupying spouse means a written access and showing plan is essential.
What happens when spouses disagree about selling?
The real estate process adds structure: documented recommendations, identical information to both parties and coordination with counsel. Authority to compel a sale is a legal question.
How do attorneys work with a CDRE®?
Counsel typically sets the boundaries and instructions; the CDRE® supplies property analysis, timeline expectations, marketing plans, status reporting and documented recommendations within that scope.
Next step
The Divorce Is Complicated Enough.
The Real Estate Process Doesn't Have to Be.
When the marital home becomes part of a divorce, the goal isn't to create another fight. It's to create a clear, professional process for evaluating, preparing, marketing and selling the property.
One Home. Two Futures. One Clear Process.
